Women’s Tennis Hosts Binghamton Saturday for Home Opener

PHILADELPHIA—Temple women's tennis (1-1) is set to host Binghamton on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Legacy Tennis Center. Competition is slated to begin at 7 p.m.

The Owls
> The team is led by head coach Steve Mauro, who is in his 11th year at the helm of the women's program.
> The Owls last competed on Jan. 13 at Old Dominion, as last weekend's matchup against Penn State was postponed due to inclement weather. The Owls fell to the Monarchs, 4-3. Junior Kristina Titova and freshman Stefaniya Surikova were undefeated on the day, defeating their ODU opponents as a doubles pair as well as in singles. The duo did not drop a match all weekend. Junior Cecilia Castelli was unbeaten on the weekend as well. She downed her Hampton opponent on Saturday and defeated her ODU opponent 6-0, 6-0.

Scouting Binghamton
> Binghamton is led by head coach Libby McGovern, who is in her ninth year at the helm of the program.
> The Bearcats will open their 2019 season in Philadelphia, following a solid fall showing. The squad went 4-14 in the spring last year.
> Temple and Binghamton last met on April 14, 2019 at the TU Pavilion. The Owls swept the Bearcats, 7-0.
