Morgan Basileo Earns American Weekly Honor Roll Nod

10.21.19 | Women's Soccer

PHILADELPHIA– The American Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon and senior goalkeeper Morgan Basileo was named to the Weekly Honor Roll for her standout performances between the posts against No. 21 UCF and USF this past week. This is the captain's second honor roll selection of the season, as she also received the honor on Sept. 16.

Basileo has been outstanding in the net for the Owls. The Philadelphia, Pa. native was instrumental in holding No. 21 UCF scoreless on the road Thursday. She made a season-high 11 saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season and help the Owls pick up a point in Orlando.  Basileo also tallied five saves against USF on Sunday, increasing her season total to 117. She is now second in the nation and first in the American in total saves. Basileo also owns a 1.28 goals against average and a 0.836 save percentage.

Next up, Temple will have a week-long hiatus from competition before it hosts Delaware State for Senior Day in a non-conference matchup on Sunday, Oct. 27. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at the Temple Sports Complex.
