Davis Earns Big 5 and American Athletic Conference Nods

PHILADELPHIA – Junior forward Mia Davis was tabbed the Big 5 Player of the Week and was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for her standout performances in the opening two games of the 2019-20 season, as announced by both league offices Monday afternoon.Â
This is the third career Big 5 Player of the Week recognition for the Baltimore, Md. native and the fourth AAC honor roll accolade.Â
Davis registered back-to-back double-doubles to help guide the Owls to a 2-0 week to start the season. Davis pulled down 11 boards in both games while totaling 18 points against Fairfield and a game-high 26 points against Duquesne. The junior shot 54.8% from the floor, 50% from three point range and 72.7% from the charity stripe. Davis added two assists and a steal to end the two-game stretch. Â
Next up, the Owls travel to Big 5 rival St. Joseph's University tonight for a 7 p.m. tip at the Michael J. Hagan Arena.
