Football's Roche Named Chuck Bednarik Defensive Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Temple redshirt junior defensive end Quincy Roche was named Chuck Bednarik Award Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Tulane. Earlier in the week he was named American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of teh Week.
Roche dominated from start to finish with an American Athletic Conference record 6.0 TFLs and a career-high 12 tackles. He ended Tulane's first drive with a strip sack that he recovered himself. That possession led to Temple's first points and they never trailed. On the Green Wave final drive he added two more sacks.
In two games this November, both Temple victories, Roche has accumulated 6.5 sacks, 9.5 TFLs and 18 tackles.
