McNeal Joins Temple Staff; Carey Announces Assignments

PHILADELPHIA – First-year Temple Football head coach Rod Carey announced the hiring of Nate McNeal as assistant director of football operations. In addition, now that all the full-time coaches have been hired, Carey announced their specific titles and responsibilities.
McNeal joins the Temple Football staff following three years as director of high school relations at the University of Illinois. He went to Illinois after spending three years in various roles at his alma mater, Northern Illinois. He was a graduate assistant for football operations and video for two seasons before being promoted to director of player personnel for one season.
"I have known Nate for many years and am happy that he elected to join us here at Temple," said Carey.
"I'm excited to be here in this great city and given the opportunity to work for a great institution," said McNeal.
"I am extremely pleased that we were able to compile such an outstanding group of people to lead the Temple Football program," added Carey. "The common thread is that they are all incredible people, and completely dedicated to both their families and the program. Each of them have unique qualities that help them excel in their particular areas. Together we will be able to take the Temple Football program to greater heights."
