Women’s Tennis Travels to Fordham Saturday

PHILADELPHIA—Temple women's tennis (5-2, 0-0 AAC) will hit the road to take on Fordham (3-4, 1-0 A10) on Saturday, March 2. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
The Owls
> The team is led by head coach Steve Mauro, who is in his 11th year at the helm of the women's program.
> The Owls went 1-1 last weekend. The squad blanked Howard 7-0 on Saturday, Feb. 23. This was the Owls' third sweep of the season. On Sunday, Feb. 24, the team fell to VCU, 7-0.
> The doubles pair of Kristina Titova and Stefaniya Surikova have started off the season strong. They have a 5-1 record, playing at both first and third doubles.
> In singles, Titova has played in the first, second and third spot, amassing a 4-1 record. Chunan Xiang and Cecilia Castelli have also excelled in singles play. Xiang has gone 5-2 at second, third and fourth singles. Castelli has played matches in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth spots, compiling a 5-1 record.
Scouting Fordham
> Fordham is led by Bette-Ann Speliotis Liguori, who is in her eighth season as head coach of the Rams.
> The Rams are 3-4, with their three wins coming against Quinnipiac, Seton Hall and St. Bonaventure.
