Football Holds NFL Pro Day

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple Football program invited NFL scouts and the media out today to watch the annual pro day held on North Broad. Thirteen former Owls who are draft eligible participated in the event and 60 scouts from nearly every NFL team were in attendance.

Prospective NFL players had measurements taken and did the bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, 40-yard dash, and three-cone drill. The former Temple Owls also ran position drills to help showcase their talent with the ball or against another man.

Many eyes were on RB Ryquell Armstead and CB Rock Ya-Sin who attended the NFL combine just a few weeks ago. At the combine, Armstead posted 22 reps on the bench, a 30 inch vertical, and a 4.45 40-yard dash. Ya-Sin tallied 18 reps, a 39.5 inch vertical, and a 4.51 40-yard dash.

DT Michael Dogbe also wowed scouts with his abilities. In the weight room, the Senior Bowl invitee put up 34 reps on the bench press and came in at 6-3 and 284lbs. SAF Rodney Williams had the fastest 40-yard dash and vertical jump of the group. He posted a 4.46 40-yard dash and a 41-inch vertical leap. SAF Delvon Randall and RB Rob Ritrovato had very impressive days for themselves. Randall had a 34 inch vertical leap and 18 reps on the bench while Ritrovato posted 22 reps on the bench and touched 30 inches on the vertical test.

WRs Ventell Bryant and Brodrick Yancy, OL Vaughn Fulton and OL Jaelin Robinson, TE Chris Myarick, DT Freddie Booth-Lloyd and RB Nick Sharga all also participated in the events.

The NFL Draft starts on Thursday April 25, 2019 and will be held in Nashville, Tenn., at Nissan Stadium.
