Golf to Play in Explorer Invitational Monday

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Temple Golf will take part in the Explorer Invitational Monday in its final tune up before the American Athletic Conference Championship. The one-day, 36-hole tournament will be held at the par-71, 6,433-yard LuLu Country Club.
Previewing the Tournament

The Owls will field two teams at the nearby event with its main Cherry team comprising its normal starters: John Barone, Trey Wren, Gary McCabe, Erik Reisner and Conor McGrath.
Temple's White team is made up of Sam Soeth, Liam McGrath, Aaron Tobin and Matthew Kristick.
Wren leads the Owls with a 71.89 stroke average while Barone is close behind at 72.07.
McCabe (74.78), the current Under Armour/OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week, is coming of his best performance of his career at the Princeton Invitational where he was four-under and tied for eighth.
Reisner, who owns the third best average (74.44), has two Top 10 finishes while competing in all 27 rounds this season.
McGrath (75.11), the lone freshman in the lineup, also had his best tournament of his career at Princeton.
Soeth, who had his low round of the season (68) at Princeton, is the only member of the White team that has competed this season for the Owls.

The Field

Six schools and eight teams will be competing at the Explorer Invitational: La Salle, Temple Cherry, Temple White, Navy A, Navy B, Drexel, Niagara, and Villanova.
Tee time for the first round will be 9 am.
