Gebert Named AAC Lacrosse Attacker of the Week; Whitaker on Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - For a third time this season, Temple junior Maddie Gebert has been honored by the American Athletic Conference in its weekly honors, while sophomore Bridget Whitaker was honored for a second time. Gebert was named the AAC Attacker of the Week for a second time after also earning Weekly Honor Roll mention once. Whitaker has been named to the Weekly Honor Roll for a second time.

Gebert recorded a hat trick in both contests in a 1-1 week for the Owls. She scored four goals in Temple's 18-5 win over ECU to help the Owls clinch an AAC Tournament berth, also adding an assist in the victory. Earlier in the week, Gebert scored three goals in a loss to Villanova. She converted her only free position opportunity of the week against Villanova. 

Whitaker led the Owls with three assists last week and scored a goal in the ECU win. She also tallied two assists in that contest and recorded one vs. Villanova. Whitaker totaled seven draw controls, four ground balls and a caused turnover for the week. 

The Owls are back in action on Saturday, April 27 in a 1 p.m. game at Vanderbilt.
