Lacrosse Plays Final Regular Season Game at Vanderbilt on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA - Seedings for the American Athletic Conference Tournament will be determined after Temple lacrosse plays its final regular season game at Vanderbilt (10-4, 2-2) on Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m. (ET) The Owls (5-10, 2-2) will claim the third seed with a win and will be the fourth seed with a loss. The first and second seeds will also be decided Saturday as Cincinnati (4-0 in the AAC) heads to #18 Florida (also 4-0 in league play).
Scouting Temple
> The Owls are 5-10 overall and coming off a big Senior Day win over ECU on April 20. Temple jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, winning 18-5 to clinch a berth in the first-ever AAC Tournament.
> Temple has a much stronger road record this season than at home, going 4-4 on the road so far while finishing the home season at 1-6 overall.
> Junior Maddie Gebert earned her second AAC Attacker of the Week Award on April 23. She scored four goals in the Owls' loss to Villanova on April 17, and followed it up with three goals in the ECU win on April 20.
> After five years as an associate member of the Big East Conference, Temple is in the AAC which is sponsoring women's lacrosse for the first time ever. Four of six teams are advancing to the AAC Tournament on May 2 & 4 at Cincinnati.
> Gebert leads Temple with 33 goals, followed by junior Olivia Thompson with 27 goals. Sophomore Bridget Whitaker has a team-best 16 assists to go with 14 goals, totaling 30 points to rank second only to Gebert's 37 points. Whitaker was named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll for a second time on April 23.
> Defender Kara Nakrasius has collected a team-best 60 draw controls and also has 14 caused turnovers. She is moving up the all-time record lists and currently ranks fifth all-time with 131 draw controls.
> Sophomore Courtney Taylor leads the Owls with 24 caused turnovers and also has 37 ground balls, second only to junior goalkeeper Maryn Lowell's 42 ground balls.
> The highest single-game goal total of the season belongs to Thompson who exploded for a career-high six goals in the Owls' 12-10, come-from-behind win at Rutgers on Feb. 13. Â

> The Commodores are 10-4 overall and 2-2 heading into the final regular season game.
> Vanderbilt's 22-15 win vs. UConn on April 14 secured its AAC Tournament berth, the Commodores' first postseason berth since 2013.
> Sophomore attacker Gabby Fornia currently ranks 18th nationally in assists (35) and 13th in assists per game (2.50).
> Sophomore attacker Sophie Furlong leads the Commodores in goals with 32 and already has four five-goal games this season. Her shot percentage of .681 ranks first in NCAA Division I.
> Vanderbilt ranks fourth nationally in assists per game (8.71), fifth in caused turnovers per game (12.64) and ninth in points per game (23.93).
> Sophomore Melissa Hawkins leads the Commodore defense and is ranked 16th nationally with 2.07 caused turnovers per game. She recently recorded her 50th career caused turnover against Florida.
> Beth Hewitt is in her first season as head coach at Vanderbilt after spending four seasons as the team's associate head coach.

> Temple leads Vanderbilt 4-1 all-time and has won three in a row including a 10-5 home win a year ago.
