PHILADELPHIA – The Arizona Cardinals selected Temple defensive tackle Michael Dogbe (Morris Plains, N.J.) in the seventh round of the 2019 National Football League Draft on Saturday afternoon. He was the 249th overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft and the third for Temple.

On Friday, the Indianapolis Colts selected cornerback Rock Ya-Sin in the second round with the 34th overall pick. Earlier today, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected running back Ryquell Armstead in the fifth round with the 140th overall selection. Temple now has had three players selected in a single draft for the eighth time in school history (1946, 1975, 1980, 1987, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2019).

Additionally, Temple has had at least one player drafted in four straight seasons for the first time since 1989 and has had multiple players drafted for the fourth straight year, the 20th time in school history.

In addition, the recent "Wildboyz" produced the following professional football players: Sharif Finch (Tennessee), Praise Martin-Oguike (Miami, Arizona), and Avery Ellis (Ottawa of the CFL). All eight played together on the defensive line during the 2015 season.

Dogbe finished his Temple career as one of the most dominant defensive linemen in program history. He was also one of the strongest with a bench pres of over 500-pounds. He appeared in a program-record 54 games, only he and fellow classmate, Delvon Randall, have played in that many games. Dogbe finished his career with 158 tackles, 19.5 TFLs, 8.5 sacks, and five forced fumbles. His best season was in 2018, when he amassed 12.5 TFLs, seven sacks, and three forced fumbles. His best game of 2018 was a win against Maryland as he led the way on the line with seven tackles, 3.5 TFLs, 2.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Dogbe earned AAC first team honors and an invite to the East-West Shrine Game.

Dogbe is the 74th Temple football player to be drafted into the NFL. He joins Robby Anderson (New York Jets), Ryquell Armstead (Jacksonville), Cole Boozer (Tampa Bay), Sean Chandler (New York Giants), Dion Dawkins (Buffalo), Sharif Finch (Tennessee), Kyle Friend (Cleveland), Nate Hairston (Indianapolis), Matt Ioannidis (Washington), Keith Kirkwood (New Orleans), Jacob Martin (Seattle), Tyler Matakevich (Pittsburgh), Brandon McManus (Denver), Haason Reddick (Arizona), Jullian Taylor (San Francisco), P.J.
