Four More Temple Players Join NFL Following 2019 Draft

PHILADELPHIAÂ - After a weekend in which the Temple Owls had three players drafted into the NFL [CB Rock Ya-Sin (Indianapolis, 2nd round); RB Ryquell Armstead (Jacksonville, 5th); and DT Michael Dogbe (Arizona, 7th)] the roster of former Owls in the NFL continues to grow. By the end of the weekend TE Chris Myarick (Miami), SAF Delvon Randall (Philadelphia), FB Rob Ritrovato (N.Y. Giants), and OL Jaelin Robinson (Atlanta), had signed free agent contracts, bringing the total from the Class of 2018 to seven in the NFL.
Myarick finished his Temple career appearing in 43 games and starting 23 in his four years as an Owl. His best season was his senior season; he finished with 14 catches for 146 yards and a touchdown. He also helped lead the way for Armstead who finished with over 1,000 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns in 2018.
Randall finished his Temple career in historic fashion. Randall started 40 and appeared in a program-record 54 games over his four-year career. Randall finished his career tallying 249 tackles, 12.5 TFLs, 12 interceptions, 11 PBUs, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. The do-it-all safety captained a secondary that finished 2018 ranked seventh in defensive passing efficiency. Randall had a team-leading 85 tackles his senior season, he also notched two TFLs, six PBUs, two forced fumbles, and four interceptions. He grabbed his four interceptions over the final five games this season and had a 52-yard pick-six in the Independence Bowl against Duke. He finished fifth all-time in Temple history with 12 interceptions. Randall earned all-conference honors in 2017 and 2018 and also earned an invite to the East West Shrine Game.
Ritrovato finished his Temple career playing in 44 games and starting in two for the Owls. making an impact on offense and on special teams. Ritrovato finished his career with 109 carries for 456 yards and five touchdowns. In his senior season, Ritrovato had a career-high 69 carries for 270 yards and four touchdowns. He also had five special teams tackles and forced a fumble.
Robinson finished his Temple career playing in 40 games, starting in 14 over his four-year career. Robinson started every game his senior year and started in three different positions on the line of scrimmage (left tackle, left guard, and right tackle). Robinson was regarded as one of the most versatile offensive linemen in the country.
That makes 25 Owls in the NFL, and 22 joining in just the last four seasons. These new pros join the following former Owls currently active in the NFL:

Draft Notes:
- Temple has had at least one player drafted in four straight seasons for the first time since 1989.
- Temple has had multiple players drafted for the fourth straight year and the 20th time in school history.
- Temple is one of only 21 teams to have multiple players drafted in each of the last four NFL Drafts, the only school outside the Power 5 to do that.
- Temple now has had three players selected in a single draft for the eighth time in school history (1946, 1975, 1980, 1987, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2019).
- Temple has now produced at least one NFL-caliber defensive back in each of the past four years - Ya-Sin, Randall, Sean Chandler (NY Giants, 2018), Nate Hairston (Indianapolis, 2017), and Tavon Young (Baltimore, 2016).
- Temple has had 11 players selected in the NFL Draft over the last four seasons, however, Ryquell Armstead was just the second offensive player to be drafted from Temple (Dion Dawkins, 2nd round, Buffalo, 2017).
- Over the past four seasons, Temple has had five defensive linemen drafted into the NFL with the addition of Dogbe – Matt Ioannidis (Washington, 2016), Haason Reddick (Arizona, 2017), Jacob Martin (Seattle, 2018) and Jullian Taylor (San Francisco, 2018). In addition, the "Wildboyz" produced the following professional football players: Sharif Finch (Tennessee), Praise Martin-Oguike (Miami, Arizona), and Avery Ellis (Ottawa of the CFL). All eight played together on the defensive line during the 2015 season.
- The American Athletic Conference had 11 players selected in the 2019 NFL Draft, sixth among all conferences. Temple led the pack with three selections (tied with Houston) and was among three AAC schools with multiple selections this year.
