Women's Soccer Announces 2019 Schedule

4.30.19 | Women's Soccer

PHILADELPHIA—Head Coach Seamus O'Connor has announced the Temple women's soccer's 2019 schedule. The slate is highlighted by road matches against ACC opponent Wake Forest and Big 10 foe Maryland in addition to the always challenging competition the Owls face in the American Athletic Conference.

"I am very pleased with the quality of the schedule we were able to put together for the 2019 season," said O'Connor. "I wanted to build on the success of last season when we made it to the American Athletic Conference Tournament and I knew that required putting some early challenges on our schedule that will help us identify the strengths and weakness of our 2019 team before we head into our very difficult conference games.  We played a tough spring schedule and our team excelled when faced with these challenges. We progressed individually and as a team this spring and with the addition of our incoming freshman and transfers I feel very confident that we are in a very good position to take on this challenging 2019 schedule."

After a home exhibition match against Lafayette on Aug. 18, Temple will open its non-conference schedule with three road matches. The Owls will travel to Wake Forest on Aug. 22, UMBC a week later on Aug. 29 and Sacred Heart on Sept. 1.

The Cherry and White host the first of their eight regular season home matches on Thursday, Sept. 5 against Lehigh. On Sept. 8, the Owls will face city-rival Villanova at the Temple Sports Complex.

Temple will travel to Maryland to take on the Terrapins on Sept. 12 and face Rider on the road on Sept. 15. The Owls continue their non-conference slate on Wednesday, Sept. 18 as they host Wagner and then head across Philadelphia to Penn to take on the Quakers on Sept. 22.

The Owls open AAC play with two matches at the TSC. The squad will host Cincinnati on Sept. 26 and ECU on Sept. 29. Temple will then head to Tulsa and reigning AAC tournament champion Memphis on Oct. 3 and Oct. 6, respectively.

Temple will play its final two home conference matches of the regular season on Oct. 10 against SMU and Oct. 13 against Houston. A trip to Florida is next for the squad, as the Owls take on UCF on Oct. 17 and AAC regular season champion USF on Oct. 20.

After a week hiatus from competition, the Owls will close out their home slate on Sunday, Oct. 27 as the team celebrates Senior Day  against Delaware State. Temple wraps up its regular season and conference play at UConn on Thursday, Oct. 31.
