Gebert Named AAC Lacrosse Attacker of the Week; Lowell Earns Honor Roll Mention

4.9.19 | Women's Lacrosse

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After a high-scoring, 17-13 win at UConn for Temple lacrosse, the Owls earned two weekly awards from the American Athletic Conference. Junior Maddie Gebert was named the AAC Attacker of the Week, while junior goalkeeper Maryn Lowell was named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll.

Gebert was Temple's spark as the Owls earned their first AAC victory. She scored a season-high five goals in the road win, adding an assist for six total points. Gebert twice rattled off back-to-back goals at crucial moments, putting the Owls ahead 10-7 and later 13-10 in the tightly-contested second half with the Huskies.

The conference weekly honor roll is the first for Gebert, who earned Big East honor roll mention once as a sophomore and was also named to the Big East Second Team.

Lowell made 10 saves for Temple to secure the league win over UConn, while also leading all players with six ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Temple is back in action with an AAC contest at Cincinnati at noon on Saturday, April 13.
