6.18.19 | General

PHILADELPHIA - Led by new Assistant AD/Ticket Sales Bob Capewell, a total of five staff members are part of the new Temple Athletics Ticket Sales Team that the Owls have brought in-house.

Matt Segall is now the Senior Ticket Sales Account Executive after spending the last year and a half as the Associate General Manager for Ticket Sales with IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions at Temple. Kate Gier is also staying on as a Ticket Sales Account Executive after serving in a similar role the last two years.

New to the team are Ticket Sales Account Executive Brandon Chudnoff, a two-time Temple graduate, and Coordinator of Ticket Sales & Data Analytics Marinath Jeevanantham who earned his master's degree at Temple.

"We're very excited to welcome Bob to Temple," said Scott Walcoff, Senior Associate Athletic Director of External Operations. "He brings a wealth of ticketing and data experience with him, and we're confident he will bring new fans into our venues to experience the excitement of Temple Athletics. Similarly, we're thrilled that Matt and Kate are staying on as part of the ticket sales team, as they have been instrumental in providing outstanding customer service to our fans over the last couple of years. Also, having someone like Brandon on the staff is a huge plus, as his passion for Temple is unmatched. Finally, Mari's background with data analytics will be a major benefit in helping us continue to grow strategically with our marketing and ticket sales outreach."

Capewell comes in with 15 years of overall experience in ticket sales and marketing success in major and minor leagues, entertainment and collegiate athletics.

From 2015-2019, Capewell gained invaluable experience in data and analytics working with professional sports and collegiate revenue generating departments as Head of Sales for SSB, Fan Manager, and Turnkey Intelligence. Through this experience, he was highly successful in working with his team and collegiate clients to increase ticketing and sponsorship revenue by leveraging available data and facilitating more insightful decisions for leadership. He is excited to apply this knowledge to Temple Athletics ticketing with the goal of enhancing the overall fan experience and increasing attendance.

Capewell has spent the majority of his career working in front offices for Philadelphia area sports teams starting in 2003, with his most recent leadership role from 2011-15 as the Group Sales Supervisor for the Philadelphia 76ers. During his time there he sold the largest group sales partnership in Sixers history, and the team achieved the #1 NBA ranking for highest year to year revenue increase. Capewell also worked for the Philadelphia Soul (2010-11), the Trenton Thunder (2009-10) and Comcast-Spectacor in various roles from 2004-09, spending his last two years there as the Director of Group Sales and Event Services.

He earned both a bachelor's (2001) and a master's (2003) degree in business administration, marketing, from the University of Miami.

Already a familiar face at Temple, Segall transitions to Senior Ticket Sales Account Executive after spending the last year and a half as the Associate General Manager for Ticket Sales with IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions at Temple. Segall has been managing a staff of three account executives and up to three interns, and has helped generate significant revenue. Earlier in 2017, Segall first started at Temple as an account executive through IMG Learfield before being promoted.

Segall came to Temple from the Philadelphia 76ers where he spent a year as a sales associate, selling season ticket packages, partial plans, premium seating, and group experiences. He also has experience in marketing, working for CBS Radio in Philadelphia. He graduated from Penn State University in May, 2012, with a bachelor's degree in management.

Chudnoff, a familiar face in Temple Athletics, joins the team in his first full-time stint with the department. He previously worked at Temple as a Marketing Assistant Coordinator while obtaining his master's degree in sport business. After earning that degree in May, 2018, he moved on to work for Harris and Blitzer Sport and Entertainment until accepting the position at Temple.

While working as a sales representative for HBSE, Chudnoff focused primarily on selling full season memberships, partial packages and premium suite rentals for properties such as the New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia 76ers and the Delaware Blue Coats.

In his previous position with the Owls, Chudnoff assisted with operations for the Jr. Owl Club and helped with game day presentation for football and men's and women's basketball, among many other responsibilities. Chudnoff also previously completed an internship in ticket sales at Temple.

From 2011-15, Chudnoff was a defensive lineman for the Owls and was a four-year letterwinner. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and sport management in 2015.

Gier began her career at Temple in July of 2017. For nearly two years, she served as a Ticket Sales Account Executive for Learfield IMG College Ticket Solutions. She then transitioned to Temple Athletics when the ticket sales department was taken in house.

Gier came to Temple after spending three years working as a Dual Rate Supervisor for Sands Casino in Bethlehem, Pa. Prior to that, she spent a year with The Aspire Group as a Retention Specialist for Rutgers University.

In the fall of 2012, Gier was a ticket sales associate for the Sacramento Kings. She also completed internships with the Philadelphia Eagles and Lehigh University. Gier is a 2012 graduate of DeSales University with a degree in sport management.

Mari earned his master's degree in sport business at Temple in December, 2018. He spent four months prior to his return to the university working as a sports marketing intern with Athlete Crush, developing a company-wide digital marketing strategy. In his final semester as a graduate student, he served as the director of operations for the Owls' men's soccer team.

Earlier in his time as a graduate student, Mari completed two internships with the Philadelphia Union, serving first as a sports marketing intern and then as a marketing analytics intern.

Mari graduated from Amrita University in India in May, 2013 with a bachelor's of technology degree in aerospace engineering.
