Student-Athletes Earn 3.41 Fall Semester Grade Point Average

PHILADELPHIA – Temple University student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom, posting an impressive 3.41 combined semester grade point average during the Fall 2025 semester. Temple Athletics also maintains a 3.45 cumulative GPA, reflecting sustained academic excellence across the department.
The achievement marks the 28th consecutive semester in which Temple student-athletes earned a semester GPA above 3.0 and the eighth straight semester with a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Nearly 79 percent of Temple student-athletes posted a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher, while 59 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for the fall - an increase of eight from Fall 2024.
"The academic success of our student-athletes continues to reflect the strong culture of academic excellence across the Temple athletic department," said Arthur Johnson, Vice President and Debbie & Stanley Lefkowitz '65 Director of Athletics. "These results are a testament to the hard work, discipline, and commitment of our student-athletes, along with the outstanding support provided by our Resnick Academic Support Center staff, coaches, and campus partners. We are proud of the standard our programs continue to set in the classroom."
Team performance during Fall 2025 was equally strong, with 18 of 19 teams earning a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher, and all 19 teams recording cumulative GPAs above 3.0.
A total of 12 teams earned a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher during the fall, including Women's Basketball, Women's Cross Country, Women's Rowing, Women's Fencing, Women's Field Hockey, Women's Gymnastics, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Soccer, Women's Tennis, Women's Track (Indoor and Outdoor), and Women's Volleyball.
Women's Tennis recorded the highest team cumulative GPA at 3.78, while Women's Lacrosse posted the highest team semester GPA at 3.78 and had 16 student-athletes earn a perfect 4.0 GPA. Additionally, Women's Fencing achieved a perfect academic mark, with 100 percent of its student-athletes earning a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher.
