Football's Yeboah Named to Mackey Award Watch List

New York – Temple's redshirt junior Kenny Yeboah has been named to the 2019 John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List. Yeboah has made the list for the second straight year joining 59 other candidates on this season's list. He is one of just four tight ends from the American Athletic Conference to make the list.
Yeboah played in all 26 games for Temple over the past two seasons averaging 14 catches for 145 yards each year. He served as the backup to Chris Myrick who is now a member of the Miami Dolphins.
Given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end, the Mackey Award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee. The 2019 Mackey Award recipient will be announced on December 11, 2019 and then presented live on December 12, 2019 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on ESPNU.
NFL Hall of Fame member John Mackey is considered to be the best to have played the tight end position. A tight end by whom all others are measured, Mackey was a role model on and off the field as demonstrated by his Super Bowl Championship, his commitment to community and his place in history as the first President of the NFLPA.
The John Mackey Award is a member of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA), which encompasses the most prestigious awards in college football. Yeboah joins Temple LB Shaun Bradley (Bednarik Award), OL Matt Hennessy (Rimington Award), and QB Anthony Russo (Maxwell Award) as Owls who have earned Watch List selections in 2019.
