Saturday, August 24
The Owls completed the final day of camp with a light walkthrough of game situations.
Following practice, three more players became members of the single-digit club: DT Daniel Archibong (#6), WR Randle Jones (#7), and LB Isaiah Graham-Mobley (#8).
Friday, August 23
The Owls inched another day closer to the season opener with an up-tempo practice that combined summer practice and Bucknell prep. Redshirt-junior QB Anthony Russo participated in most drills and is expected to return to full-action early next week.
Make sure to listen to all the post-practice interviews from Coach Carey asn the single-digit players.Â
Thursday, August 22
The team took the field in the first game-install session of the season. Reps were extended for those expected to see game action while others gave a good opponent look from the scout team. For Temple Football fans, the dog days of summer are officially over and football season has begun.
Wednesday, August 21
The Temple players took the field in the morning for another mid-week walk through. This will be the final walk through of camp before officially starting to prepare of Bucknell next week. They will resume regular practice and hitting tomorrow.
Tuesday, August 20
Once again the Owls took the field in the record-setting August heat with opening day just 11 days away. On this day, the offense set the pace scoring on nearly every possession. QBs Todd Centeio, Trad Beatty and Kennique Bonner-Steward all engineered scores with help from a variety of running backs and receivers.
Monday, August 19
The Owls took the field in the morning for another day of practice in the blistering August heat. Team drills were highlighted today by a pitch taken by Jadan Blue on the outside for a 55-yard touchdown. Practice concluded with the defense stopping a drive and kicker Will Mobley hitting a 45-yard field goal.
Temple University President Richard M. Englert addressed the team following practice. President Englert provided encouraging words for the Owls' players and wished them well in their 2019 season.
Saturday, August 17
The team went through the paces in the 90 degree heat for a spirited practice. Each side of the ball had its moments. The defense clamped down on the offense in the red zone period with back-to-back interceptions by SAF Ayron Monroe and CB Linwood Crump.
Following today's practice, the team announced that graduate offensive lineman, Jovahn Fair, was awarded the honor of becoming a single-digit player. Although recognized by Temple's honored tradition, the Akron, Ohio, native will continue to wear jersey number 70 as the NCAA prohibits offensive linemen from wearing numbers other than 50-79.
Friday, August 16
The Owls took the field today in the morning for another day of practice. The Owls continue to battle the heat and humidity while grinding through the middle of camp. The Owls' players really stressed the importance of keeping their bodies' healthy and taking care of themselves through active recovery and rest. As for practice, QB Todd Centeio hit WR Jaden Blue with a 35-yard catch-and-run that set up a 10-yard touchdown run by RB Re'Mahn Davis. QB Trad Beatty connected with WR Randle Jones on a 37-yard dime that was put where only Jones could make a play on it during 7-on-7 drills.
Thursday, August 15
The Owls were back on the field this morning in full pads for another day of practice. More than a half-dozen NFL scouts were on the sidelines for practice today to check out what the Owls had in store for the 2019 season. Big plays were made on both sides of the ball, but the defense gave the offense trouble throughout practice. CB Ty Mason had a pick-six during team drills and the defensive line and linebackers provided pressure and stuffed the run. QB Todd Centeio connected with WR Isaiah Wright for a 50-yard bomb late in practice. Centeio also hit TE David Martin-Robinson with a flurry of passes throughout practice.
Wednesday, August 14
The Owls went through another walk-through today at camp. The middle of the week walk-through allows the players to gain valuable reps at practice, whilst keeping themselves healthy by staying contact-free throughout the practice. Coach Carey has been upfront about the lack of tackling in 11-on-11 drills, however, the Owls continue to hit pads and work on tackling form every day of camp. The players will get back into pads tomorrow and continue to hit throughout camp.
Tuesday August 13
The Owls moved practice to 7:00am Tuesday morning at Geasey Field due to impending bad weather. It was a pretty even practice throughout team drills, with touchdowns and turnovers going both ways. Early in 11-on-11 play, WR Isaiah Wright caught a 35 and a 40-yard touchdown pass from QB Todd Centeio and QB Trad Beatty, respectively. RB Re'Mahn Davis seems like he has a long run every day, he broke one for a 50-yard score today. CBs Linwood Crump and Freddie Johnson both had interceptions and DE Arnold Ebikete scooped up a fumble and ran it in for a 30-yard touchdown.
Monday, August 12
The team took the field after an off day on Sunday but didn't miss a beat when it came to getting back to work Monday morning. The morning was filled with competition and great play on both sides of the ball. The Owls also worked on hurry up situations and squad transitions. During 11-on-11 drills some of the most notable plays included; RB Jeremy Jennings breaking off a long jet sweep for 30-yards, SAF DaeSean Winston had a leaping interception over the middle of the field, and QB Todd Centeio found WR Isaiah Wright in the back of the endzone for a touchdown for the final score of the day.
Saturday, August 10
Getting better. Striving for perfection. Both the weather on the on-field performance of the Temple Owls can be described that way. With a sun-filled, 81 degree day, the Owl concluded their first full week of practice with, as head coach Rod Carey stated, "their best practice to date." Players stepped up on each side of the ball to make plays. They will have a day of rest tomorrow and resume on-field drills on Monday.
Making an appearance at today's practice was Owl's legend, Paul Palmer, who will begin his seventh season as radio analyst of Temple Football alongside Harry Donahue. Games will once again be broadcast on 97.5 The Fanatic.
Friday, August 9
The team took the field in the morning at Edberg-Olson Hall. The offense was successful both in the air and on the ground. QB Anthony Russo threw multiple long touchdowns in 11-on-11 drills. He connected with WRs Jose Barbon, Jaden Blue, and Jordan Smith a few times for scores. RBs Jager Gardner and Re'Mahn Davis both broke off long runs during team drills as well.
Following practice, Temple alum and current ESPN Sportscenter anchor Kevin Negandhi, addressed the team about their upcoming season and their college careers. He motivated the Owls' players for the long season ahead. Negandhi graduated from Temple in 1997 and often has spoken to the team at the beginning of the season.
Thursday, August 8
The Owls put the full pads on for the first time at camp early this morning at Geasey Field. This marked the first day of full contact of the 2019 season. The offense was clicking well today in 11-on-11 drills, a bounce back from a dominant defensive practice on Tuesday. WR Jordan Smith caught a 40-yard touchdown pass and TE David Martin-Robinson was catching balls all over the field throughout team drills. Â
Wednesday, August 7
The Owls took the field in the afternoon for a walk through period. The Owls spent the morning and the early afternoon recovering and preparing before practice. The Owls walk through period had to be relocated last minute to the indoor facility due to heavy rain and rolling thunder and lightning.  Practice tomorrow is expected to be in full pads and marks the beginning of full contact at camp.
Â
Tuesday, August 6
Another early morning practice at Geasey Field. The highlight for the offense came early on in team drills, when Anthony Russo found Isaiah Wright for a 35-yard gain. However, the defense got the best of the offense on this day with several batted passes at the line of scrimmage. Ultimately, the day ended with a pick-six from junior transfer Harrison Hand.
Monday, August 5
The team took the field at 6:00am shifting practice over to Geasey Field for the day. Three team segments highlighted the practice interspersed with individual position and special teams drills.Â
Efficient passing was on display with short seam passes from Anthony Russo to Jordan Smith and then Trad Beatty to Kadas Reams breaking for long gains. The biggest play was when Russo hit Branden Mack at midfield and took it the rest of the way for a 75-yard touchdown.
Saturday, August 3
Branden Mack (1), Isaiah Wright (2) and Sam Franklin (4) donned their new practice jerseys as the team went through their paces for practice #2. Practice drills took place in the expected heat and humidity until it was time for team work. Then, a downpour erupted but it didn't deter the Owls from completing the final 25 minutes of the morning workout.
The players are off from on-field work tomorrow and will resume practice on Monday.
Friday, August 2
The first practice began at 8:25am and concluded just under two hours later. The NCAA regulates that the first few practices take place in only helmets and shorts so there was no pad-thumping today. Players went through a number of drills and reacquainted themselves with the pace of practice.
The highlight of the day came at the end of practice when Coach Carey revealed the results of the initial players vote for single-digit players. Redshirt junior WR Branden Mack, senior WR/RS Isaiah Wright and senior LB Sam Franklin were added to the group that already includes LB Shaun Bradley, LB Chapelle Russell, and center Matt Hennessy.
