PHILADELPHIA - Kevin Copp, a familiar face in the Temple University Athletics Department, has returned to the athletics staff as Associate Athletics Director/Video Production. In between his stints with the Owls, Copp served as Assistant Executive Director of Digital Content and Communications for the Ivy League.

"We are very pleased to welcome back Kevin Copp to the Temple Athletics family," said Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft. "In his previous role at Temple, Kevin built OwlsTV from its infancy to one of college athletics cutting-edge video departments. We are confident that he will replicate that with our newly-created video production department as we prepare for the start of the conference's new television agreement with ESPN."

In Copp's role, a brand new one within the department, he will oversee all video production and event broadcasts including live and on-demand event streaming of games, press conferences, and special events. The American Athletic Conference and ESPN begin a 12-year media rights extension starting in the 2020-21 season, with a new emphasis on live streaming through  ESPN+, ESPN's industry-leading direct-to-consumer sports streaming service.

"Four years ago, I was afforded an unbelievable opportunity to build a video department from the ground up here at Temple," said Copp. "It's an honor to be asked by Pat Kraft and Vinnie James to return and take on another unique challenge as we get ready for the launch of an exciting new partnership between Temple, the American Athletic Conference, and ESPN."

While at the Ivy League, Copp was responsible for the day-to-day management of the League's partnership with ESPN, which showcases over 1,100 events on the variety of ESPN platforms. In addition, he managed the League's on-demand video library and oversaw all broadcasts at Ivy League postseason events.

In his previous three-year stint at Temple, Copp was responsible for overseeing the video services department, which provides content on OwlSports.com as well as in-venue video boards. Additionally, he managed the production of live broadcasts for OwlsTV and served as on-camera talent and as a play-by-play broadcaster.

Prior to working at Temple, Copp spent six months as the Director of New Media for Towson. At Towson, Copp created and supervised the production of all video content for TowsonTigers.com.

Before his time at Towson, Copp spent five years at the University of Georgia, where he worked as a video production assistant before serving as the video production manager for Georgia IMG Sports Marketing. At Georgia, Copp was responsible for producing and editing video, served as on-camera and play-by-play talent, and oversaw live broadcasts for six sports.

He has also worked as a play-by-play broadcaster for the SEC Network, Temple Radio Network from Learfield, and the Georgia Bulldog Radio Network.

A 2010 graduate from the University of Georgia, Copp finished with a bachelor's degree in English while interning with the athletic communications department at Temple.
