Temple Releases its Full Men’s Basketball Schedule
9.20.19 | Men's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA – With the release of the American Athletic Conference schedule, Temple men's basketball has completed its full slate of games for the 2019-20 season.
Twenty-six of the program's 31 games will be televised with Temple appearing on ESPN entities 20 times. Five other contests will be broadcasted by CBS Sports Network while the USC game will be carried by the Pac12 Network. Television negotiations for the remaining seven contests are ongoing with most expected to be broadcast.
"This is an incredibly challenging schedule and carries on the legacy of Hall of Fame coaches John Chaney and Fran Dunphy," said first-year head coach Aaron McKie. "Our trip to the Bahamas has prepared us for what promises to be a truly exciting season for Temple Basketball."
For the second consecutive year the Owls open AAC play with back-to-back road games, taking on UCF (Dec. 31) and Tulsa (Jan. 3). The team's first conference game at the Liacouras Center is Jan. 7 versus Houston, the first of three home league games, which also includes Tulane (Jan. 11) and Wichita State (Jan. 15). Temple then closes the month of January with three of its remaining four games on the road, playing at SMU (Jan. 18), Penn (Jan. 25) and UConn (Jan. 29). The lone home game in that grouping is Cincinnati on Jan. 22.
Temple opens a balanced February slate of four home and four away contests with a home date against ECU (Feb. 1). Temple then travels to Memphis (Feb. 5), hosts SMU (Feb. 8) and plays at Tulane (Feb. 12). The Owls host Big 5 rival Villanova on Feb. 16, its final non-conference game of the season. UConn (Feb. 20) closes out its home contests in February with trips to ECU (Feb. 23) and Wichita State (Feb. 27) completing the month.
March features two home games to open the month, USF (Mar. 1) and Tulsa (Mar. 4) before the regular season concludes with a trip to Cincinnati (Mar. 7).
The 2020 American Athletic Conference Championship will be held at Dickies Arena in Forth Worth, Texas from March 12-15.
