PHILADELPHIA— Temple women's tennis competed at the Cissie Leary Invite this weekend.

Notes
> Stefaniya Surikova and Oleksandra Doroshenko started the weekend with a 6-4 victory over Penn State's Shannon Hanley and Olivia Ryan in Flight A doubles. The pair then fell to second-seeded Iuliia Bryzgalova and Marija Curnic of Penn, 6-2.
> The doubles tandem of Chunan Xiang and Rine Nozaki advanced from the first round of Flight B with a 6-2 win over Jennifer Richards and Clarise Huang of Penn. The duo then fell 6-3 to Columbia's Jennifer Kerr and Shivani Amineni.
> Surikova picked up two backdraw wins at Flight A, bouncing back twice from first set losses to defeat Drexel's Ghita Benhadi, 2-6, 6-4, 10-1, and Isabella Montana of Delaware, 1-6, 6-3, 10-4.
> Both Cecilia Castelli and Oyku Boz advanced in the Flight B Win-Lose draw. Castelli defeated Gracey Hirsch of Penn State, 6-4, 6-2, while Boz was a 6-2, 6-4 winner over Katka Majorova of Drexel.
