Temple Athletics to Partner with Statewide Promotions on Creation of First-Ever Junior Owls Dance Team

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University Athletics Department announced today the creation of its first-ever Junior Owls Dance Team. The team will be directed by Statewide Promotions, LLC, who has 19 years of experience providing youth dance programs that represent both collegiate and professional sports franchises.Â
"We are excited to partner with Lou Jacobs and Statewide on this initiative," said Scott Walcoff, Senior Athletic Director of External Operations. "With so many young dancers in the area, this is an incredible opportunity to make new Owl fans and hopefully create future Temple Diamond Gem Dance Team members."
The Temple Junior Owls Dance Team will be for girls and boys ages 7-18. There are two groups divided by age. The Junior Preps are ages 7 to 11 and the Jr. Pros are ages 12 to 18. There is no stunting or tumbling required. The team will provide the opportunity to learn pro level choreography to the latest music and taught by the icons in the sports, dance and music industry. Team members learn and perform four to six routines every year and are provided a uniform that is included as part of their program. The Temple Junior Owls Dance Team will perform at both Temple Football and Temple Basketball games at Lincoln Financial Field and the Liacouras Center, respectively, throughout the season. Practices will be held on Sunday mornings once or twice a month.
