PHILADELPHIA – Temple players had many things to be thankful for, as 15 Owls suited up in the NFL on Thanksgiving weekend.

Two Owls were in action on Thanksgiving, starting with Houston linebacker Jacob Martin (2014-17) taking on Detroit. Martin played the majority of defensive snaps and had a pass breakup in Houston's 41-25 win. Washington wide receiver Isaiah Wright (2016-19) saw action on offense and special teams in a 41-16 win over Dallas.

Four Owls were in action in Minneapolis on Sunday, three players from visiting Carolina Panthers and one from the host Minnesota Vikings, as Minnesota escaped with a 28-27 victory. Carolina wide receiver Robby Anderson (2011-13, 2015) had four receptions for 94 yards on the day, including a 41-yard touchdown catch from Teddy Bridgewater in the second quarter. Anderson's 75 receptions this season is a new career-high and is the 4th most in the NFL. His 912 receiving yards is also good for 9th most in the league.

Carolina tight end Colin Thompson (2014-16) saw extensive time blocking on offense and on special teams, and linebacker Tahir Whitehead (2008-11) recorded a tackle in the Panthers loss. Minnesota cornerback Harrison Hand (2019) saw time on defense and special teams in the Vikings win.

Denver kicker Brandon McManus (2009-12) set a career-long on his only field goal attempt of the day from 58 yards in a 31-3 loss to New Orleans. McManus even broke out a special celebration for his career accomplishment. Buffalo offensive tackle Dion Dawkins (2013-16) helped protect an offense that passed and ran for over 150 yards in a 27-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. This was the ninth game this season that Dawkins was on the field for every offensive snap for Buffalo. Dawkins teammate, linebacker Tyler Matakevich (2012-15), recorded a special teams tackle in the win.

Arizona linebacker Haason Reddick (2013-16) totaled four tackles while playing almost every defensive snap in a 20-17 loss to New England. Reddick's defensive teammate Michael Dogbe (2015-18) also saw action on defense in the loss.

Elsewhere around the league, Indianapolis cornerback Rock Ya-Sin (2018) had three tackles in a 45-26 loss to Tennessee. Atlanta offensive lineman Matt Hennessy (2016-19) saw time on the offensive line and special teams in the team's 43-6 win over Las Vegas. Tampa Bay and head coach Bruce Arians narrowly lost to the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs 27-24, with linebacker Chapelle Russell (2016-19) seeing action on special teams in the loss. Lastly, on Monday night, Philadelphia linebacker Shaun Bradley (2016-19) had a special teams tackle in a 23-17 loss against Seattle.
