Clinton Named AAC Freshman of the Week

PHILADELPHIA – Rookie guard Jasha Clinton was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week and junior Alexa Williamson earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Clinton registered 12 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists in the Owls 69-52 win over Tulsa on Dec. 23. The Virginia Beach, Va. native finished the game shooting 50% from the field. Clinton currently averages 8.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game for Temple.

Williamson scored a career-best 20 points in the win over Tulsa, shooting 72.7% (8-11) from the floor. The forward added five rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block over her 27 minutes of action with just one turnover. Williamson is averaging 10.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, ranking second in both categories for the Owls.
