Women’s Tennis Prepares for Three-Match Week

PHILADELPHIA - Temple will host its second and third matches of the season at the Legacy Tennis Center on Wednesday, Feb. 12 against Fordham and Friday, Feb. 14 against UConn before heading off to Delaware on Sunday. Temple's match against UConn will be its first of two American Athletic Conference matchups this season. 

The Owls
> Temple swept Rider 7-0 on Friday, Feb. 7 at the Legacy Tennis Center.
> They improved to 1-3 on the young season, rebounding after a defeat at the hands of cross-city rival Drexel.
> Temple has now swept Rider in four consecutive matchups dating back to 2010.
> The Owls are now 7-2 in their last nine matches at the Legacy Tennis Center.

Scouting Fordham
> Fordham is led by head coach and Fordham alum Bette-Ann Speliotis Liguori, who is in her eighth season at the helm of the program.
> The Rams are 2-3 to start their spring season, falling at Harvard, Boston College, and Army.
> This will be the Rams' second match in four days after battling Army at West Point on Sunday, Feb. 9.
> Temple defeated Fordham in New York last season, winning 5-2 on Mar. 2, 2019.

Scouting UConn
> The Huskies are led by head coach and director of tennis Glenn Marshall, who is in his 23rd season at the helm of the women's program and 28th overall at UConn.
> They are coming off a sweep at the hands of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, but will play at Drexel on February 13th before facing Temple the following day.
> UConn is 2-1 to start the season, defeating Bryant at home and Seton Hall in South Orange, N.J..
> The Huskies defeated Temple last season, winning 4-3 at their home court on Mar. 9, 2019. 

Scouting Delaware
> The Blue Hens are led by head coach Kelly Anderson, who is in just her second season as the head coach of the program.
> They will travel to Washington, D.C., to face George Washington on Friday before returning home to battle Temple on Sunday.
> Delaware has jumped out to a hot start to the season, holding a 4-0 record. The Hens swept back-to-back matches against Chestnut Hill College and LaSalle before defeating Quinnipiac in their most recent match on Feb. 9.
> Temple defeated Delaware 5-2 at the Legacy Tennis Center in their previous match on Mar. 7, 2019.
