Lacrosse to Close Out Homestand with La Salle

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple lacrosse team will close out its six-game homestand against La Salle Tuesday afternoon, hosting the Explorers at 3 p.m. This is the second cross-town foe the team has faced early in the season, falling 17-7 to Saint Joseph's last week.
Scouting TempleÂ
> The Owls are 2-3 on the season and snapped a three-game losing streak with a 12-7 win over Coastal Carolina Saturday afternoon, handing the Chanticleers their first loss of the season.
> Temple has seen depth both from the starting lineup and off the bench, with 16 Owls recording goals so far this season. Senior Bridget Whitaker leads the team with 10, while junior Jen Rodzewich is close behind with eight.
> The team is successful off the draw, beating its opponents 78-52. Temple ranks second in the AAC and 18th in the nation in draw controls per game (16.25), with Kara Nakrasius (28), Belle Mastropietro (19), and Whitaker (18) leading the team. Nakrasius' 6.5 draw controls per game are first in the conference and 27th in the NCAA.

> La Salle is 1-2 on the season, picking up its first win on Feb. 22 at Bucknell. The team will close out it four-game road stretch on Broad Street, opening up home play on Saturday against Radford.

> La Salle is beaten off the draw 41-38 by its opponents, with Johnson and Ruskey combining for 27.
