Women’s Tennis Hosts Rider on Friday

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's tennis team will face Rider on Friday, Feb. 7, in their only match of the week at the Legacy Tennis Center.
The Match
>The match will take place at the Legacy Tennis Center in Philadelphia, where the Owls will play the second of four straight home matches.
>The Owls will face Rider for the first time since April of 2018. Temple emerged from that match victorious, sweeping the Broncos 7-0.
>Temple has battled Rider three times since the 2010 season, sweeping them in each meeting.
The Owls
>Temple has lost their first three matches, falling to ODU, VCU, and Drexel in January.
>The pair of Oyku Boz and Yining Tian won their match against Drexel's pair, notching their first win of the season as a doubles team. Boz and Tian defeated a pair that included Drexel's 6th-winningest doubles player.
>The pair of Rine Nozaki and Cecilia Castelli are still searching for their first doubles win this season.
Scouting Rider
>The Broncos are searching for their first win since Sept. 2019, finishing their fall match schedule with a record of 1-7.
>This match will kick off their spring play, having not played an official match since Oct. 13, 2019.
>Rider will visit four of the Philadelphia schools this season, battling St. Joseph's, Villanova, and La Salle in addition to Temple.
