USF Rolls Past Women’s Basketball

TAMPA, Fla. — USF saw two players combine for 50 points as the Bulls rolled past the Temple women's basketball team in American Athletic Conference play Sunday afternoon at the Yuengling Center. The loss sets the Owls back to 13-10 on the year and 5-5 in conference action while USF improves to 14-9 overall and 6-3 in the American.

Keys to the Game
> USF's Elena Tsineke and Sydni Harvey each collected 25 points to total more than half of the Bulls' points. Harvey shot 7-for-8 from three-point range as USF collected 13 threes on the day. 
> The Bulls shot 57.4% from the floor and 52% from beyond the arc. 
> Temple shot a season-low 28.8% from the field and 16.7% from downtown. 
> The Owls were outrebounded by USF, 43-27. 

Individual Highlights
> Sophomore Marissa Mackins led Temple with a team-high 13 points and four assists. 
> Alexa Williamson, Mia Davis, and Shannen Atkinson each added 10 points for the Owls. 
> Davis led Temple on the boards with six rebounds. 
> Senior Ciara Forde collected a team and career-best two steals while adding three rebounds. 

First Quarter 
> USF opened the game with hot hands, knocking down a trio of three-pointers in a matter of two minutes. 
> The Bulls went on to shoot 71.4% (5-7) from three-point range in the first 10 minutes as they outscored the Owls 26-8. 
> Temple struggled from the field in the opening frame, going 2-for-11 from the floor. 

Second Quarter 
> The Owls' shooting woes continued into the second quarter as they finished 2-for-18 from the field. 
> USF shot 57.1% from both the floor and long range. Tsineke led the Bulls with 15 points in the second set of 10 minutes, including a pair of treys. 

Third Quarter
> Temple shot much better from the floor following the break, finishing 56.3% (9-16) from the floor. 
> Mackins led the Owls in the third stanza with six points while Williamson, Atkinson and Davis each added four. 
> However, the Bulls still won the battle of the third quarter as they outscored Temple, 24-23. 

Fourth Quarter
> Temple's shooting troubles returned in the final quarter as they could only knock down 4-of-14 field goal attempts. 
> USF was unable to connect from beyond the arc in the last 10 minutes of action, only hitting 1-of-5.
