In light of Temple University's decision to move to online and alternative learning methods effective March 16 for health and safety reasons due to concerns over the recent spread of the COVID-19, Temple Athletics will limit attendance at all home athletics contests to essential personal and immediate family members of student-athletes. In addition, Temple's Cherry and White Fan Fest, scheduled for April 4, has been canceled and varsity sports in non-championship seasons will be suspended for at least the next two weeks. The health and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans is of paramount concern and we will continue to monitor the situation and take additional actions if warranted.

'Sudden Change' was the theme of the day as team members were notified of practice just minutes before they were to report to the field. Coach Carey has stressed heading into the spring that the team needs to be better at adjusting to a change in possession and changes in momentum within a game.
The team took the field at 9:15 and went through a two-hour spirited practice. Carey was pleased how the team reacted to the curveball and remarked that the team approached the practice with the right attitude.
When asked by the media afterwards who has been standing out on defense, QB Anthony Russo didn't hesitate to say CB Christian Braswell. Braswell picked off Russo twice during the morning session.

The Owls started spring practice without pads on a sunny 55-degree day on Chodoff Field at Edberg-Olson Hall. The players and coaches looked to get back into the swing of things working on fundamentals and working on all three phases of the game. The Owls also worked on some offensive vs. defensive periods that included some excellent head-to-head matchups. WR Branden Mack and CB Freddie Johnson battled for a few deep balls and WR Jadan Blue and CB Christian Braswell competed all over the field. WR Randle Jones also looked to be back to full strength. He streaked down the sideline and caught a few deep passes showing he hasn't lost a step since being sidelined for the majority of the 2019 season.
With head coach Rod Carey and his staff coming back for a second season, single-digit leader DT Daniel Archibong said there is definitely less of a learning curve this spring in comparison to last. He also said that it is reassuring that the trust between the players and coaches is already established and it will make it much easier to learn and improve throughout the spring.
