DURHAM, N.C. - Senior Malia Hee finished second in sabre at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Saturday, the highest finish of day for the Owls.

Meet Highlights
> Nine of the 12 Owls at Regionals advanced to the finals.
> Hee's second-place finish was the highest of the day, with Margherita Calderaro's fourth-place finish narrowly missing the podium.
> Kerry Plunkett and Aryana Abtin both finished fifth in their respective weapons, while Naomi Ross earned a seventh-place finish in epee. Zoe Turner and Quinn Duwelius finished in 10th place in their respective weapons, with Marielle Luke and Megan Ross' 12th-place finishes in their respective weapons rounding out the finalists.
> Sarah Park finished 22nd in epee, while Kennedy Lovelace finished 14th and Cassie Navalta finished 26th in foil.
> Three fencers representing the Owls (Calderaro, Park, Turner) were freshmen.

It was great to see three freshmen compete, but also to see Quinn Duwelius come back from ACL surgery for her redshirt season was nice.
