Bright Lights: Men’s Basketball Takes on #8 Houston Saturday on CBS

PHILADELPHIA - With both Temple and #8 Houston losing games with Cincinnati this week due to COVID issues with the Bearcats program, the AAC moved the teams' game scheduled for Feb. 10 to this Saturday at noon on CBS. This will be just the second time the network has broadcast a game from the Liacouras Center. The last was in 2013 when the Owls defeated #21/19 VCU in the regular season finale.
SCOUTING TEMPLE
> Redshirt freshman Damian Dunn, who earned Big 5 Player of the Week and AAC Rookie of the Week, leads Temple and ranks fifth in the AAC in scoring (16.2 ppg). He also leads the nation in free throws made (6.8 pg).
> Graduate student Brendan Barry (9.7 ppg). who averages 30.8 minutes per game off the bench, leads the AAC and ranks fourth in the nation in three-point percentage (18-33, .545). He is also tied for second in the conference in threes made per game (3.0).
> Freshman Jeremiah Williams (8.8 ppg) runs the Owls attack, leading the team in assists (3.7 per game/t-7th AAC) and steals (1.3 pg/14th AAC).
> Senior captains J.P. Moorman II (8.3 ppg) and De'Vondre Perry (8.3 ppg) are the Owls' top rebounders at 7.5 and 6.8 per game, respectively.
> Junior Jake Forrester (8.3 ppg, 6.2 rpg), who is coming off his first double-double of the season (15 pts, 10 rebs) at Tulane, rounds out the Temple starting five.

> Houston will come to Philadelphia on a five-game winning streak, with its lone conference loss coming in a tight contest (65-64) against Tulsa in December.
> The Cougars lead the nation in offensive rebounds per game (16.15) and rank second in scoring defense, allowing just 56.7 ppg. Their three-point field goal defense is sixth in the nation (26.2 percent) while their field goal defense is second (37.1 percent).
> The team has two double-digit scorers, with Quentin Grimes (17.8 ppg) and Marcus Sasser (16.5 ppg) leading the team.
