Volleyball Falls to UCF, Splits Weekend

10.17.21 | Women's Volleyball

PHILADELPHIA- Temple (5-14, 1-7) dropped a conference matchup versus the UCF Knights (14-6, 7-1) 3-0. The Owls fell behind early in all three sets and could not make the comeback necessary to win.

Recapping the Day
> The first set started off with both teams trading points until UCF ripped off a 15-1 run that put Temple in a hole they could not get out of.
> The first set ended with a score of 25-9 in favor of the Knights.
> The second set went like the first, with Temple letting UCF have too many unanswered points. The Knights had four separate runs of three or more unanswered points.
> The second set was close early as the score was 8-5 in favor of UCF, but the Knights finished the set on a 17-9 run to win the set 25-14.
> Temple put together their best performance of the day in the third set, going down 9-3 early but fighting their way back.
> The Owls finished the set on a 20-16 run, but it was not enough to overcome the early deficit. They dropped the set 25-23 and the match three sets to none.
