PHILADELPHIA - Ryan Sayers, a 6-1, 175-pound junior guard who played his high school basketball at Owen J Roberts, has made the Temple University men's basketball team as a walk-on, announced head coach Aaron McKie.

"Ryan is a hard worker who earned a spot on this year's team through our walk-on tryouts," said McKie.  "His skill level, energy and work ethic really fit into our team culture and we are happy to have his as part of 2021-22 squad."

Sayers averaged 14 points as a senior (2018-19) at Owen J. Roberts, while making 40 three-pointers and earning the team's Offensive Player of the Year award.  A three-year letterwinner and two-year starter, the Pottstown, Pa. native also was a stellar defensive player, taking 25 charges his final season.

A standout student at Temple, Sayers has been on the dean's list every semester and owns a 3.95 cumulative grade point average while majoring in risk management and insurance.
