Men's Cross Country Captures Another Top-5 Finish at the AAC Championship

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple men's cross country team picked up a top-5 finish at the AAC Championship Friday morning. The Owls have now finished in the top-5 in four of the five invitationals they have competed in this season. Joe Arthur made a statement on his quest to qualify for the NCAA Championship with another strong performance. Arthur went head-to-head against some of the best runners in the NCAA and picked up a sixth-place finish with a time of 24:09.1.

"In a year where we've dealt with plenty of adversity, I'm proud of how the group on the line today showed up and competed. We're learning and growing and will be better moving forward from experiences like this. Joe asserted himself well in a group of national class guys and can build from this as he looks to qualify for the NCAAs in a few weeks. Our pack behind him needed to be closer to all-conference consideration (top 15) for us to crack into that top three . We've got a solid pack of freshmen who I know will be hungry in subsequent years to improve upon this performance."

Race Notes

Arthur led the Owls with a sixthplace finish.
Temple saw six of their eight runners finish in the top thirty-three.
All eight runners finished in the top-50.
Tulsa picked up the top spot with Wichita State, Cincinnati, Temple, and Memphis rounding out the top five.
