Women's Cross Country Finishes Their Season on a Strong Note

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple women's cross country team placed 12th out of 27 qualifying teams Friday at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals. Michelle Joyce led the Owls with a 11th place finish with a time of 20:40.8. Joyce's performance has put her in position to secure an at-large bid to qualify for the NCAA National Championships next weekend in Tallahassee Florida. The Cherry and White saw promising races out of freshman Dominyka Petraskaite and Mia Dubac.

- "If you look at the splits, we were about 15th at the mile mark and ended up finishing 12th which is great. Michelle put up another top finish that the women have ever had besides Blanca winning this race a couple of years ago. I think we can be in a place a year from now where we can take a step forward. We have some people at home right now that we think will make differences for us in the future."

- Georgetown picked up the win as a team with West Virginia and Villanova rounding out the top 3.
