Men's Basketball Defeated by Hot-Shooting Boise State, 82-62

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Boise State drained 12 three-pointers in defeating Temple, 82-62, in consolation round play of the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic Friday afternoon at TD Arena. The Owls fall to 1-3 while the Broncos improve to 2-2.
Recapping the Game
First Half
> Boise State, which gave #22 St. Bonaventure all it could handle in its opener, came out red-hot, making three of four threes over the first five minutes to take a 15-10 lead.
> The Broncos would shoot eight-of-12 from long range in the frame, including one at the buzzer from Naje Smith in taking a 43-28 lead at the break.
> Temple was hurt badly by turnovers, making 12 in the half with many unforced while Boise State only had five miscues.
> Boise State closed the half on a 10-3 run over the final two-plus minutes
> Emmanuel Akot, who had 24 against the Bonnies, led the way with 13 in the half, including two baskets in the final run.
> Khalif Battle, who was held to four points against Clemson, led Temple in the period with nine.

> Boise State quickly moved the lead over 20 points, making consecutive three pointers to take a 51-30 lead and forcing a Temple timeout with just under 17 minutes to play.
> The Broncos pushed the margin to 34 points, 71-37, on a Akot three-pointer at the 9:14 mark that capped an 8-0 BSU run.
> Battle scored eight of his game-high 19 points over the final 10 minutes, but the Owls never were able to get back into the contest.
