Temple Unveils New Digital Experience at Liacouras Center
11.4.21 | General, Men's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA - – Temple University's Liacouras Center will sport a new digital look for the upcoming men's and women's basketball and events season, designed and installed by experience design and execution company, ANC. The more than 2,200 square feet of high-definition LED will create a state-of-the-art experience for Temple fans, graduates, concert goers and special event attendees. The upgraded digital experience features unmatched quality and greater pixel density which provides crisper visuals, particularly for fine details, even at short viewing distances.
"We are excited to expand our partnership with ANC to create and deliver a new dynamic game day environment for our entire community at the Liacouras Center," said Temple University Associate Vice President for Business Services Michael Scales. "The new video display system will help to enhance the overall experience for attendees at all of our events."
"This new video board will truly enhance the experience of fans of Temple basketball while also providing a valuable tool to the basketball programs for recruiting student-athletes," said Senior Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Event Management Lee Roberts. "It is an impactful video experience and, coupled with the upgraded sound system, it moves the Liacouras Center to an elite level among collegiate venues."
Working with ANC's manufacturing partner, Lighthouse Technologies LED displays, ANC designed a new centerhung scoreboard that is comprised of 8 separate videoboards that total more than 750 square feet of 4 mm LED and over 5.8 million pixels:
• Two sideline boards at 10.69' height by 19.32' length.
• Two endline boards at 8.98' height by 15.38' length.
• Four corner boards at 10.5' height by 2.5' length.
Completing the experience are new courtside tables with a 4 mm LED display and a 10mm LED ribbon display at 2.1' by 706.5' which rings the entire arena. The entire digital experience is powered by ANC's vSOFT™ Control System, capable of providing seamlessly synchronized programming, spectator prompts and advertising for sports, concerts and special events.
"We're proud to continue our 15-year relationship with Temple University to ensure a top-notch spectator experience through our execution of the latest in LED technology coupled with our industry-leading creative services," said ANC CEO George Linardos. "The new centerhung, connected with the arena-wrapping ribbon board and courtside displays, will create endless opportunities to create a new level of wow factor for Owls fans."
