PHILADELPHIA – Temple University's 30 Under 30 awards program recognizes trailblazing young alumni who are disrupting the status quo to make a better tomorrow. From more than 55,500 young Temple alumni, Temple seeks to identify and highlight outstanding Owls who are changemakers, trendsetters, problem solvers, and innovators, who truly exemplify what it means to be Temple Made. The 2022 Class includes three individuals who spent their days on North Broad Street participating in Temple Athletics.

While they have commonality of early success as an Owl, their roads have been vastly different.

Ameena Soliman (FOX '17, STH '19) is a Philadelphia native who didn't really have to go far to find her way and is now trailblazing her path through the sports world. Currently in her fourth season with the Philadelphia Eagles, Soliman was promoted to pro-scout during the 2021 offseason. She had spent the previous two seasons (2019–2020) as the Eagles' player personnel coordinator after originally joining the team's scouting department as a player personnel intern in 2018. This career in sports started at Temple, where she served as a football operation and recruiting graduate assistant during the 2017 season. She would go on to graduate from Temple summa cum laude with a BS in finance and marketing and an MS in sports business. Soliman then went on to work as a player personnel assistant with the NFL league office in New York City. In 2020, Soliman was named a Scott Pioli and Family Fund recipient. The annual grant aims to promote the development, education and training of aspiring female football coaches and scouts who are pursuing careers in collegiate or professional football. Soliman is using her position and platform to help other women break into the male-dominated sports world.

While at Temple majoring in journalism at Klein College of Media and Communication, Jacob Martin (KLN '19) played football for the Owls. The Aurora, Colo., native joined the Owls in 2014, and by the time he left he earned a coveted single-digit and was part of the Owls' winningest class amassing 33 victories in four seasons. Martin was a second team All-American Athletic Conference selection in 2017 and led the Owls in sacks with eight. He was also a member of NCAA Student Athlete Advisory Committee for the American Athletic Conference and Temple and coordinator of alumni relations for the American Athletic Conference since 2016. Post-graduation, Martin is still active in both football and media, playing as an outside linebacker for the Houston Texans of the NFL and hosting a show on Sports Radio 610 in Houston. Given his dual perspective as a pro-athlete and a media member, Martin is sharing his Temple journey and his media expertise during the fall semester as a speaker. Additionally, he will be helping Klein to spread the word via his network on the newly created Claire Smith Center for Sports Media.

Breland Moore (KLN '14) developed a passion for Philadelphia sports at an early age, frequently attending Flyers hockey games with her grandfather and working for the Reading Fightin' Phils at FirstEnergy Stadium near her home in Reading, Penn. Moore also knew early on that she wanted to blend this passion with a career in media; specifically as a Philadelphia sports anchor. To accomplish this goal, Moore chose to attend Temple University, enrolling in the Klein College of Media and Communication, after a campus visit made her feel like she found her "home" for the next four years. While at Temple, Moore excelled in academics and worked for the athletics department as the mascot, Hooter the Owl. She would eventually graduate cum laude and began her career in media at Service Electric Cable in Allentown. Moore would then go on to cover the Buffalo Bills at WHEC in Rochester, N.Y.  In 2018 she was nominated for an Emmy Award for "The Bills are Back," a special about the 2017 drought-breaking Buffalo Bills playoff game. Following that, Moore spent two years covering the Super Bowl LIV Champion Chiefs for KCTV in Kansas City. Finally, in May 2021, Moore's childhood dream came to fruition completing her circulatory route. She accepted a position as sports anchor for Fox 29 in her beloved Philadelphia where she gets to report on her favorite teams. As an anchor, Moore also gets the chance to represent the biracial community and has been an outspoken advocate of natural hair.
