Owls in the NFL - Week 13
12.7.21 | Football
Week 13 was not kind to the Owls in the NFL. Nearly half the players were on a bye week as Matt Rhule (2013-16) and his Carolina Panthers did not play.
Â
A couple of former single-digit #9's did find success on Sunday.
Â
Michael Dogbe's (2014-18) Arizona Cardinals continue to roll as the hottest team in the NFL winning 33-22 at Chicago. Dogbe contributed one tackle.
Â
Matt Ioannidis (2012-15) had a sack of Derek Carr that thwarted a Raiders' drive as the Washington Football Team eeked out a 17-15 win at Las Vegas.
Â
There were three matchups where Owls took on Owls resulting in splits.
Â
Bruce Arians (1983-88) and his band of Tampa Bay Buccaneers won decidedly, 30-17, over Matt Hennessy's (2016-19) Atlanta Falcons.                   Â
Â
Rock Ya-Sin (2018) and his Indianapolis Colts shutout Jacob Martin's (2014-17) Houston Texans, 31-0.
Â
Shaun Bradley's (2016-19) Philadelphia Eagles went to MetLife Stadium to face a former Owls tight end for the second week in a row. This week turned out differently as Kenny Yeboah's New York Jets stumbled to the Eagles, 33-18.
Â
Two former Temple cornerbacks saw their teams lose on the game's final play.
Â
Tavon Young (2012-15) played sparingly as his Baltimore Ravens fell to the Steelers, 20-19.
Â
Harrison Hand's (2019) Minnesota Vikings lost on the final play at Detroit, 29-27.
Â
Dion Dawkins (2013-16) and Tyler Matakevich (2012-15) and the Buffalo Bills hosted New England on Monday Night Football and lost a close game, 14-10.
Â
Quincy Roche (2016-19) had six tackles including a sack and Chris Myarick (2015-19) continues to get increased playing time for the New York Giants. The G-men went down to Miami but lost 20-9.Â
