Women's Soccer Looks to Bounce Back Versus Villanova

PHILADELPHIA — Temple women's soccer looks to bounce back after a loss to UCF as they take on city foe Villanova this Wednesday at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on Nova Nation All-Access. 
 
Game Preview
> Both teams are looking for their first wins of the season at Wednesday's matchup. 
> Temple is 0-7-2 all-time against Villanova with the teams' last meeting in 2019. The Owls fell to the Wildcats 0-3.

The Owls
> Temple's first game of the season resulted in a 3-0 loss against AAC rival UCF.
> Senior defender Marissa DiGenova led the Owls in shots with two both on goal for the Owls.
> Freshmen Róisín McGovern, Brooke Kane and Lexy Endres made their collegiate starts in the match. McGovern and Kane both had one shot in the game and Kane with a shot on goal.
> Junior transfer Kamryn Stablein showed a promising effort inside the net as she made seven incredible saves throughout the game.

Scouting Villanova
> Villanova women's soccer returned to action this year after finishing the 2019 season 10-7-3, their first winning record since 2009.
> The 2019 season also marked the first time they reached the BIG EAST tournament in 15 years.
> Junior midfielder Brice McInroy enters the season being named to the Preseason All BIG EAST team, after leading the team in goals (9) and points (20) in 2019.
> In their first game of the 2020-21 season, the Wildcats fell to La Salle 4-0. Sam Rosette led the team offensively with two shots and one on goal. Allison Breed also had two shots, both on goal for the Wildcats.
