Women's Soccer Looks for First AAC Win this Sunday Versus East Carolina

PHILADELPHIA — After going 0-2 in conference games so far this season, Temple women's soccer looks to win its first versus the East Carolina Pirates this Sunday at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

The Owls
> Head coach Nick Bochette picked up his first win as an Owl in a valiant effort over Villanova, 3-0.
> Striking offensively for the Owls was 2019 leading scorer, Hailey Gutowski, netting the team's first goal of the season. Emma Wilkins and Emily Kavanaugh followed suit with one goal each.
> Kavanaugh and Djavon Dupree both picked up an assist in last week's contest versus the Wildcats.
> Temple goalkeeper and captain, Kamryn Stablein, put on a dominant performance for the second week in a row, earning herself the AAC Goalkeeper of the Week award. Stablein leads the AAC in saves (26) and saves per game (8.67) with a save percentage of .839.

Scouting East Carolina
> East Carolina finished the 2019 season 5-10-3 (AAC 2-5-2).
> Jason Hamilton returns as head coach for the Pirates this season.
> The Pirates return senior forward and 2019 leading scorer Tori Riggs. Riggs picked up four goals and two assists to end with ten points.
> The team is led defensively by senior Kim Sanford who was named to the Preseason All-AAC team after leading the team to six shutouts last season.

Game Preview
> Temple is 3-2-1  all-time against East Carolina  with the teams' last meeting in 2019. The Owls beat the Pirates in overtime 1-0.
