McGovern Lands First AAC Rookie of the Week
3.1.21 | Women's Soccer
PHILADELPHIA -- Temple women's soccer defender, Róisín McGovern, was named the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Rookie of the Week on Monday.
The freshman standout from Dublin, Ireland has started in each game this season and proven to be a dominant addition to the Owls' defense.
Her strongest showing came in Sunday's competition versus East Carolina where McGovern picked up her first goal as an Owl, and the equalizer of the game, off a corner kick from fellow freshman Lexy Endres. She would go on to be a part of a strong defense that would hold the Pirates to just one goal and send the game into double OT.
This is McGovern's first AAC Rookie of the Week award.
