PHILADELPHIA – Temple Football head coach Rod Carey announced today the promotion of Zachary Gold to the role of Director of Player Personnel.

"I am very happy to promote Zach into the role of Director of Player Personnel," said Carey. "He has already played a part in building our roster and knows the type of student-athletes we are looking for in this program. It's always a sign of strength when you can promote from within and sustain success."

Gold previously served as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel after being promoted in February, 2020 from his graduate assistant position in recruiting and scouting. Before joining the program, Gold spent five years on staff at Northwestern University.

In 2018, Gold served as a scouting assistant with the Northwestern football program. His responsibilities included identifying and evaluating prospects as well as assisting with the coordination of coaching staff recruiting travel. Prior to this role, he was a student manager on Northwestern football's equipment staff for all four years as an undergraduate.

Gold is a native of New York, N.Y., and earned his bachelor's degree in communication studies from Northwestern University in 2018.
