Track and Field Sees Success at Penn Challenge

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple track and field team recorded five top-three finishes at the Penn Challenge Saturday afternoon at Franklin Field. Tannekee Strachan highlighted the meet with the lone first-place finish of the day for the Owls.Â
Meet Highlights
> Rookie Lauren Greig opened the meet up with a third-place finish in the 100m as she crossed the finish line at 12.46. Jewel Ofotan followed close behind in fourth-place with her time of 12.50.Â
> Sophia Gulotti led the way in the 100m hurdles with her fourth-place mark of 15.67.Â
> In the 200m, Marissa White crossed the finish line at 25.00 for a third-place spot, while Mallorie Smith finished at fourth with her time of 25.59.Â
> Mary Olayinka Ilelaboye recorded a personal-best in the 400m with her second-place time of 56.51.
> Making her debut for the Cherry and White was Willa Gibson. The Salt Lake City, Utah native finished second in the 800m with a time of 2:17.87.
> Emma Seifried ran a personal-best in the 3000m with her time of 10:18.87, earning a fourth-place finish.Â
> Nicole Castor led the Owls in the long jump with her seventh-place mark of 5.22m.
> Lastly, Strachan ended the meet on a high note for Temple. The sophomore earned a first-place finish in the triple jump with her personal-best mark of 12.40m.
