Clinton, Davis Earn AAC Regular Season Awards

PHILADELPHIA — Temple women's basketball senior Mia Davis and freshman Jasha Clinton were honored with American Athletic Conference regular season awards, announced by the league office Sunday afternoon.Â

Davis, a forward from Baltimore, Md., was named to the First Team All-Conference for the third-straight season. The senior leads the Owls and ranks second in the AAC with 17.6 points per game while leading Temple with 7.6 rebounds. Davis has scored in double digits in 18 games and hit the 20+ points mark six times. The senior is Temple's all-time leader in made free throws with her current career total of 409. She continues to climb into Temple women's basketball history as she sits at third in career rebounds (961) and fourth in career points (1,829).

Clinton earned a unanimous selection to the All-Freshman team as she is in the midst of an impressive rookie campaign. The Virginia Beach, Va. native is the Owls' second-leading scorer with 14.0 points per game while adding 3.9 assists, 3.5 rebounds and a team-best 2.0 steals. Clinton recorded her first career double-double on Mar. 2 against Memphis with 21 points and 11 assists. It was the first double-double in points and assists for Temple since Feyonda Fitzgerald recorded 18 points and 11 assists against Cincinnati on Feb. 25, 2017. The guard has scored in double digits in 17 games, including five games with 20+ points. Clinton leads the Owls in both steals (42) and three-pointers (38).

Clinton and Davis will lead Temple into the American Athletic Conference Tournament, starting Tuesday in Fort Worth, Texas. The Owls have earned the #5 seed and will play #4 Tulane at 12:00 p.m. in the Quarterfinals on ESPN+.
