PHILADELPHIA- After a tough loss to Drexel last week, the Temple lacrosse team will host the No. 12 Towson Tigers Wednesday afternoon. Towson is the first ranked opponent the Owls will face this season. The 3 P.M. game will be broadcasted on ESPN+.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
> After steamrolling Delaware and Villanova in the first two games of the season, Temple fell to the now-No. 16 Drexel Dragons.

> Courtney Taylor has been a consistent defensive force for Temple. She currently ranks third in Division I in caused turnovers per game with 3.33.
> The Owls are third in draw controls per game and fourth in draw control percentage in Division I.

> Meghan Hoffman contributed five assists,  tying for the second most in her career. Maddie Barber set a career-high with her six ground ball pickups.

> Towson has been one of the surprises of women's lacrosse this season. The Tigers started the season unranked before climbing to their current position at 12th in the coaches poll.
> They are 4-1, having defeated No. 10 Loyola (MD) and suffering their lone loss 10-8 to No. 8 Stony Brook.
> The Tigers are powered by a strong defense. They are ranked eighth in D-I in scoring defense, allowing just 6.6 goals per game, and only Stony Brook was able to score double digits on them. They also have the third-best clearing percentage in the nation.
> Towson is led by former All-American Sonia LaMonica. This is LaMonica's 11th season leading the Tigers. During her time Towson has won four CAA titles and made the NCAA tournament six times.
