Men’s and Women’s Tennis End Season Due to COVID Protocol Issues

4.20.21 | Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple men's and women's tennis seasons abruptly came to an end today due to COVID protocol issues within both programs. The teams were due to start competition at the American Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Championships Thursday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

"It really hurts to have our seasons end this way," said Temple men's and women's tennis coach Steve Mauro. "I feel for our student-athletes as they did everything right, following the proper protocols that allowed us to have very successful seasons. This is the right decision to pause now due to the circumstances, but to have our seasons end on the eve of the conference championship is very disappointing."
