Heavyweights Go Undefeated Against Holy Cross

The Owls' #8 ranked IRCA Varsity Eight boat pulled off the victory against #16 Holy Cross by a margin of 16 seconds on Overpeck Lake. The second varsity eight boat followed it up shortly after with a six second victory of its own. In the last race of the day the third varsity eight and freshman eight came in first and second, respectively.
"The team did a superb job today with our first real 'away' race," head coach Brian Perkins said. "We did really well and were still able to expose areas of improvement to focus on this week. The goal now is to try to unify the three City Cups at the Bergen Cup on May 1st. These are tough crews and I'm excited to see how our boys perform."
The win for the Varsity Eight gives the boat their fifth straight win of the season.The lightweight boats ran second to Princeton on the Schuylkill.

• Raced to a first-place finish, clocking in at 5:55.75.

THIRD VARSITY EIGHT
• Won with a time of 6:20.25.
FRESHMEN EIGHT
• Placed second behind the 3V8, recording a time of 6:27.73.
VARSITY LIGHTWEIGHT EIGHT
• Placed second.
