PRINCETON, N.J. - Temple men's crew will take a quick trip Sunday to Lake Carnegie for the Princeton Three-Mile Chase. The Owls will have multiple boats entered in a field that features some of the top programs in the Northeast region.

In addition to Temple, perennial Top 25 schools Princeton, Penn, Georgetown, Wisconsin, Columbia, Holy Cross, Drexel and La Salle will compete in one of the final head races of the season.

The Temple University men's crew team saw its freshman 8+ earn bronze at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on Saturday. In addition, three additional crews earned top-five showings including two pairs (4th, 5th) and the varsity eight (5th).

Facing stiff competition across all races, the Owls' duo of Leonidas Kopidis and Yannick Van Dijk were fourth behind three different pairs from the University of Pennsylvania. Adam Curran and Angus Tremlett finished fifth, and the pair of Ryan Spellman and Payton Evans closed in sixth.

Stroked by freshman Avi Cox, the freshman 8+ finished third just a second behind Drexel for second place and the varsity eight closed in fifth just 1.2 seconds behind Drexel for fourth.
