Women's Rowing Ready for the Kelly Cup

PHILADELPHIA – After a weekend off from racing following the Kerr Cup, Temple rowing takes to the Schuylkill to compete in the Kelly Cup this Saturday, May 1. Races will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.
It's been three years since the team last competed in the Kelly Cup, but last time out, the Owls brought home six medals, winning in every event they competed in. The team nabbed gold in the second varsity eight, third varsity eight and second varsity four, while earning silver in the varsity eight, varsity four, and third varsity four.
This year's Kelly Cup features opponents from Saint Joseph's, Drexel, La Salle, Penn, Jefferson and Villanova.
Racing begins at 8:00 a.m., with the last race starting at 9:45 a.m. Temple begins the day with the first heat of the varsity eight boats at 8:00 a.m., before moving on to the third varsity eight/freshman eight race at 8:30 a.m. The second and third varsity four race begins at 8:45 a.m., followed by varsity four at 9:00 a.m. and second varsity eight at 9:15 a.m.
The final two races of the day will feature varsity eight boats with the varsity eight "B" final at 9:30 a.m. and the varsity eight "A" final for the Kelly Cup at 9:45 a.m.

Spectators are not permitted at Saturday's event and Kelly Drive will be closed.
